ABOUT US
Founder, creator and designer; Mya Melrose started 'Vrose Vior', early 2013 in her dorm room attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Experimenting with pattern cuts & foreign fabric selections; our first collection was brought to life--featuring distress denim pieces, custom denim patch work, and reconstructed vintage items with a Vior finish.
After withdrawing from school her sophomore year, she chose to pursue her fashion career full time. Re-branding Vrose Vior, fully focusing on designing and sewing all original garments. Developing unique aesthetics-- mixing fabrics, patterns, & textures that normally wouldn’t go together while mingling a soft ghetto appeal.
What is this 'Soft Ghetto appeal' we hear of so very often?
'Soft Ghetto means to know you are more than a product of your environment, to turn your dark side-the slums into a beautiful paradise. Soft Ghetto...To stay grounded & aware of your roots, but free to transform and transition into something way larger & far more beautiful then where you came from. To combine your ground work with your success, your business with savageness, and embrace your best attributes with a soft humble attitude.
It’s okay to blend your inner hollyhood qualities with an elegant touch, turn your flaws into a trend, own you, embrace ya sh**t…love your Soft Ghettoness.'
Designing this mentality into Vrose Vior made us free from all standard boundaries in the fashion world. We never design according to season, always off season. That’s why you may find we incorporate items into a collection from all seasons, combining styles and textures misfits and creatives can adapt to. Without a doubt we’re definitely defining a style of our own, bringing individuals together creating a breed foreign to the masses.
